Emotional Regulation Group
Does your child:

-
Become easily overwhelmed by big feelings?
-
Have difficulty calming down once upset?
-
Struggle to recognize when they are getting frustrated, anxious, or overly excited?
-
React quickly without thinking?
-
Have trouble managing disappointment or changes in routine?
-
Need support identifying and expressing their emotions appropriately?

If this sounds familiar, your child may benefit from learning practical tools to better understand and manage their feelings.

Our Zones of Regulation® Group helps children build emotional awareness, strengthen self-regulation skills, and gain confidence navigating everyday challenges in a supportive and structured environment.
Many children experience big feelings but don’t yet have the tools to understand or manage them, leaving parents feeling concerned and unsure how to help.

Our Zones of Regulation® Group is a 12-week program designed to help participants build emotional awareness, strengthen self-regulation skills, and develop practical strategies for managing everyday challenges. In a supportive and engaging environment, children learn to identify their feelings using the four colour-coded zones, understand how their emotions impact their behaviour, and explore tools to help them move between zones safely and effectively.

Each 90-minute session includes direct teaching, hands-on activities, and guided practice to help children recognize body signals, identify triggers, and build a personalized toolbox of calming and alerting strategies. Through interactive games, visuals, role-play, and collaborative discussion, participants gain confidence using their regulation skills in real-life situations at home, school, and in the community.

This group is facilitated by a Registered Social Worker, making it eligible for reimbursement under most extended health benefit plans that cover social work services.
