Tania Tucker

Occupational Therapist

When everyday routines feel anything but routine, Tania knows where to start.

Mealtimes shouldn’t have to end in tears. Getting dressed, using the toilet, settling for sleep, or simply trying a new food can become exhausting battles when a child is struggling with sensory, motor, or developmental challenges. For parents, it can be frustrating and overwhelming to watch your child struggle with things that seem like they should come naturally.

Tania helps families understand why these everyday challenges are happening and, more importantly, what they can do about them.

As one of the most sought-after Occupational Therapists at Brilliant Minds, Tania brings an exceptional depth of pediatric knowledge and specialization to her work. She has spent more than 38 years working with infants, toddlers, children, and their families, developing a highly specialized understanding of early childhood development and the skills children need to thrive.

Tania has particular expertise in feeding and picky eating, including oral-motor and oral-sensory challenges that can affect both a child’s ability to eat and their sense of safety and comfort around food. She also supports children with dressing, toileting, sleep, and other everyday functional skills, using a playful, child-centred approach that makes therapy engaging while working toward meaningful goals.

Her extensive pediatric experience includes working in NICU and follow-up programs, early childhood services, and school-age settings. Tania is certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) and has advanced training in Sensory Integration (SI), SOS Approach to Feeding, Food Chaining, and Social ABCs.

Tania works collaboratively with children and parents, providing practical strategies that can be carried from the therapy room into home, school, and community life. Her goal is not simply to help a child complete a task—it’s to help them become more confident, capable, and independent while giving parents the tools to support lasting progress.

When she isn’t helping children thrive, Tania enjoys hiking, cooking, crafting, travelling, reading, and spending time with her children.
