Melissa Ramsewak
Occupational Therapist
Melissa is an Occupational Therapist and mother of two children. She has 15 years of experience in the field of Occupational Therapy and has a passion for supporting adults and children alike as they work towards their goals.
Melissa obtained a Master of Occupational Therapy (Wayne State University) and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health (Notre Dame of Maryland University).

Having worked primarily in neuro-rehabilitation (brain/spinal cord injury and stroke), she has a long list of continuing education courses with a focus on rehabilitation, nervous system regulation and integrative health.
These include self-regulation strategies and clinical applications of polyvagal theory for children and adolescents, craniosacral therapy, mindfulness, integrative nutrition and acupuncture/acupressure.
Melissa also has experience with the Learning without Tears Program, selective eating and is currently pursuing certification in the Ayres Sensory Integration approach.

Melissa takes a gentle, trauma-informed approach in supporting children and their families through occupational challenges that can arise in day-to-day life. Through curiosity, meaningful interaction and relationship building, Melissa focuses on a holistic, play-based and sensory integrative approach to addressing gross/fine motor, sensory, behaviour/self-regulation
challenges.
